I did not say he was scared to debate her, I said he plays into her claim he is.
I am looking forward to the debates. My guess is she deflects the border issue back on Biden. Inflation is an easy play politically. She blames it on both on Biden and Trump with the free money giveaway. She then talks about how inflation has gone down. Her goal should be to get Trump off those subjects by mentioning the large crowds and support she gets or some other . She will want to get him off track without a direct insult.
If Trump can stay focused to the two topics you mentioned, he will win the debate. My fear is, that due to his ego and personality, he won't be able to and resort to his old name-calling and insults. That will cost him the debate if he does.
Most political experts will tell you Trump lost the first debate with Biden in 2020 due to his constant interruptions, the main reason Harris wants open mics. He was viewed negatively due to that. After the first debate in 2020 Biden's lead climbed to 10 points in the polls. Trump looked bad in that debate. Trump had some minor improvement in the polls after the second debate.
