Alaska is warming two to three times faster than the global average.Good Morning. A significant preliminary record was hit this week in Deadhorse, Alaska, a community located near the frigid Arctic Ocean, when the temperature hit 89 degrees, absolutely shattering the location’s all-time record of 85 degrees, which was set back in July 2016. According to Alaska-based climatologist Brian Brettschneider, this is the hottest temperature ever reliably measured so far north in Alaska. weather.com/news/climate/news/2023-11-14-us-climate-assessment-warming?cm_ven=dnt_newsletter_introTo put this in perspective, this record high was over 35 degrees above average. The average high temperature in Deadhorse hits its maximum in July at 55 degrees, while the average August high is closer to 50 degrees. It’s a reminder that climate change isn’t just happening in the places we already think of as hot. In fact, the U.S. National Climate Assessment released last fall found that Alaska is warming two to three times faster than the global average. weather.com/news/weather/news/2024-08-07-all-time-record-alaska-heat-deadhorse?cm_ven=dnt_newsletter_intro

I have a picture of myself taken in 1979 at the Arctic Circle standing under the Alaskan pipeline wearing jeans and no shirt. It was close to 90 degrees if not over 90.

Shhh don't blow the (we pick the time frame) cover. Like is done with the overall temperature tracking when attempting to prove warming

Lots of good farming potential in Alaska if it gets warmer. Wont have to spend so much on electricity and carbon products to heat the homes either. Sounds like win-win... if it was actually true.

Just think, instead of an exodus to Florida it will be reversed. Some of y'all need to get started.

Idiots should refrain from posting things that make them look even dumber. Melting permafrost is going to be a catastrophe.

Would you agree that the Earth has gone through many climate changes and perhaps we’re in another one and there is nothing that man can do to stop it. We can sacrifice our lifestyles but it will not make a difference in the long run. Shit happens and we adapt or die off and let evolution start all over again.

The only idiots are those that think they can control the climate beyond the inputs of nature.

We are very wrong to think that we can do anything to alter the climate changes that have been occurring since the beginning of time on our planet

But, but there is so much money value that can be taken taxed from US.
