Have fun.
Other than the interruption of regular life, I always found jury duty interesting.

Have fun. Other than the interruption of regular life, I always found jury duty interesting. Boring ... mostly. Although I did serve on a Federal jury for a cocaine smuggling trial. Three guys. One Colombian, One Cuban, One Local. We let the local guy go even though he was guilty. The others were up to their neck in it. He just was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The other two guys got their guilty verdicts and then they read the local his not guilty verdict. I'll never forget the look of relief on his face. There was a box of evidence in the jury room that we examined. Phone records and such. There was also a kilo of cocaine wrapped in plastic. I took it out of the box and threw it on the table. People jumped back like it was a rattle snake. Pulled a dollar bill out of my pocket, rolled it up and asked "Who's got a knife?" The worst part was I had to drive to downtown Atlanta every day for two weeks. And back. Both in rush hour traffic. I lived in Suwanee.

A dollar bill? Cheap bastard!!! That would of been pretty funny though. Especially back then.

I've served on a federal jury that was interesting. It lasted 3 weeks. I have also served on state jury in Clay Co Ga and Early Co. Ga. Both of those had mostly small time thug drug dealers. Very disheartening. The only time that I've been called that I didn't go was in March and I called the Clerk of Court and begged off because of tax season. Wasn't a problem as she is a client.

They love picking me as either 1 or 2. They know I am not afraid to speak up on behalf of truth.
I was released once because I knew the arresting officer in a DUI case. The defendant and one of his lawyers said no way. His other lawyer wanted me on the jury because he knew I was the only truthful person during the interview questions.

Was on an attempted murder trial for three days hearing all kinds of testimony and right before the closing arguments I guess they cut a deal and he pleaded guilty so we never deliberated. The dude would have been found guilty anyway IMO. The other juries that I sat in on were civil but never made the cut.

I got called one time in Naples... Room full of folks and the Judge walks in and tells us about the Case. When he asked for questions I told him...Look , We got a room full of folks that had to take the day off work for this guy peeing in the back of a City Bus..I could have fixed that problem right on the Bus. He smiled and I was never called...

One of my nephews went to court for attemted murder in Worth Co. GA. A deputy shot and killed his best friend. Lee told the deputy he was going to kill him. He spent around 2 years in jail waiting to go to court. I don't know how that would be attemted murder instead of terroristic threats. They found him not Guilty. The deputy lied and said he saw Lee coming by his house. Lee didn't even know where he lived.

Sat in the room till noon and was released. They called people for two juries and let the rest of us go. I have been called a bunch of times, been on two juries both was drug related and both times I convinced juries to convict.
