Kamala, the Ugandan giant, did NOT sleep her way to the top. She did it on her knees, and the good mayor of SanFagcisco tested her gag reflex quite a bit. And then the dumocrats made her a token again. At least Hillary killed people. After Hillbilly stopped swallowing she just resorted to murder. The only person to tame their gag reflex more thoroughly than Kamala is Morning Joe. You will have to forgive Morning Joe... I mean... it was only last week that MSNBC learned that Joe had dementia.

I'm not ever nervous about hurricanes. I'm sticking with my story....this is an El Nino weather pattern. High level winds will shear it apart. I think this one is going to be a Cat one Hurricane and pass right over you. I would take a trip north or south next thursday and come back Saturday. I don't think you guys are prepared for this one. You are 100% correct. We are not prepared. I see the cat 4/5 they gave it. Maybe, just maybe, the upper level winds will shear off some of its power before landfall. The thing I know for is that we will lose power, water, internet, etc, for an extended period. Maybe our homes. Maybe. I'm not sure about what to do, regarding my own welfare. We have today to decide. It's a mandatory evac off the island. From my view, we will catch the southern side of it, which, in theory is the weaker side. Regardless, it is not promising. I love hurricanes, normally. This one is hitting a little close to home. I'm not in the US anymore. If we lose power here, and food supplies, and such, it will not be pleasant for a long time.

They are still predicting a Cat 1 or 2 when it hits you. I would get the hell out of there. You got the money, take a trip down to Costa Rica and stay in a hotel for a week until it is over. Bring back lots of canned goods and water when you return. Be prepared to rebuild when you get back.

I'm going to get food, and water. As well. This is going to be hell. I can just feel it.

David, Just saw on the weather station that the hurricane just reached Cat 5 with 160mph winds.
Please get to a safe location quickly. Although I don’t know you and will probably never meet you I, and most probably many others, value your presence and internet friendship.
Be safe brother!

I'm so torn right now as to what to do. I am fiercely loyal to all my neighbors. I can't just leave them . We literally have to go now. There will not be a way off the island.

Mr. Bacon. Get your ass out of there. I had friends in Mexico Beach who said the same things as you. Been there done that, no problem. Then Michaël came ashore.
I got there 4 days later. My first thought, seeing the devastation, was that this was like entering a Vietnam village after an artillery attack. They had a way out after clearing the roads but it took them 48 hours to do so. There is no way off an island.
You can do a lot more good for your friends and neighbors by being on the mainland, hiring a a boat for the return trip and load it with food, water, fuel, ice and medical supplies.
Don't be a victim. Get your wits about you and do good things.
