My guess would be that most of the guns being used by criminals weren’t legally obtained by them to begin with. I mean they are criminals after all, so what the law says isn't really something they consider before they commit their crimes.

So when there was prohibition on alcohol it only opened up a illegal bootleg market but those wanted it still could obtain it. Similar to the illegal drug market. Laws won’t change the people who are criminals to begin with. I’d rather have my firearms to be able to defend myself and family.

Yes. It’s absolutely the people. A young person was arrested for murder recently close by. He was out (without even having to post a bond) for being arrested for shooting someone else and possessing a firearm by a felon. Lax administration of existing laws by a “liberal” district attorney cost another person their life.

Ghost guns are just guns assembled from parts bought separately. Some components may be 3D printed, but that is usually just the plastic pieces. Not many gang bangers own digital metal printers. It is easier to buy the parts. It is called a ghost gun since it has no serial number and is untraceable. Still takes some skill to build a gun from parts. I would bet most are bought on the black market or pawn shops and swap meets.
