Allapatta is a wasteland nothing but pepper trees, power lines, and pastures. Better off returning that permit or better yet sitting in the truck and drinking a cold one while I suffer through the hunt for you 8 points last year didnt get picked, 9 points this year fingers crossed. cant wait to post PUBLIC LAND BUCK DOWN on facebook, youtube, instagram, tictok, twitter, facetime, and of course florida outdoor forums. STRIKE 9 , 9 points got my second choice for general gun. i refuse to accept my second choice with 9 years of waiting so gonna return it and try next year with 10 points. now its personal, i wont even be living in florida next year but i will make the trip , do a little fishing for snook ,trout, redfish, flounder and get my general gun quota. fishing is the only thing im gonna miss about florida.

After an unsuccessful start, No - Lox x 2 No - Woordruff x 2 No - Sambar No - Merritt Island ended up doing really well - between myself and family members, on our standard quotas: First pick archery (no points) First and second pick muzzleloader (for first pick, 2 pref. points) First and second pick general gun (for first pick, 2 pref. points) Now, I’ve gotta figure out how I can get away from work. Good - you and yer hunt buddies can tear em up!

A little OT here but concerning tags, permits, opportunities... CO has just taken away OTC archery elk tags away from non residents. Enjoy what you can, while you can. A little bit carved out of existence every year. These are the very best years for some of you younger hunters. No disrespect to the game animals, but taking 3 plus years of preference points to hunt a stupid animal on a specific WMA is completely stupid. This is especially true concerning FL hunting. SELLING points, by the state, to hunt public land should be illegal. Talk about putting the blue collar man at a disadvantage... Might as well bring back a newer version of market hunting or just make people pay to "hunt" on privately penned animals on a pay to play ranch or game farm... No wonder poaching has become so popular these days. dont wanna say i told you so but i told you so 2 years ago, not you but anyone that would listen. colorado is history for outa state hunters on public land, the gay governors husband or wife whichever it is they both have dicks is a big time animal activist and loves him some wolves. fights non stop to protect wolves and is against any type of hunting. colorado voted for these democrat queens and now sportsmen are paying the price, fwc has got a few anti hunters on the payroll right now so dont be surprised when more restrictions come your way. You mean we're not gonna get any bear hunts for the "endangered FL black bear"? This is happening in both fishing and hunting. That should be setting off serious alarms for folks.

I got nothing. Used my points last year. Daughter got an archery hunt. Son got archery, muz and general gun with 3 points each. Looks like they’ll have to learn to wake up early.

Turns out I’m unsuccessful for archery and Muzzle loading. No word on my GG. I think it’s lost in cyberspace. Oh well I’m certainly in a consistent phase. Will be “romping & stomping” I guess.

Look on the bright side Swamp. Romping n stomping takes some of the pressure off. At least you can go when you want and not be locked in on a 3 day hunt that happens to take place during 40 knots of wind, lightning, and rain. Good luck this year.

I drew a Dexter Mary archery. I hunted it about 10 yrs ago and it was pretty good. I've heard that it has gone downhill since then so I'll scout it a couple of times if it's not looking good I'll return it and hunt a local romp and stomp.

I’ll just say that somehow I drew my 3 top choices for each season and only my general gun had a preference point.
My teenage sons both received a general gun permit for the same weekend for a new WMA here in the panhandle.
Evidently the quota system knew we were moving back to Georgia next year and decided to provide us with one more good season.
At least I get to hunt with my dad one more time on a North Central Florida WMA that he kills at least one mature buck on each year.
Thanks FWC for one more good year!

My son and I each got the same AF muzzleloader hunt. I hear I should attend but I haven't been there in at least 10 years so depending on how much scouting I can get in will determine if we return them or not.

My oldest son (15) killed his first deer last year on a WMA we frequent. Real nice 8 pt with a perfect shot at 80 yards. He shot it with a new muzzleloader we bought him for Christmas. Made me proud for sure and I was in the stand with him.

My general archery, ML, rifle draws all say pending. Remember that FWC has a crap computer system - prolly have to do 1 draw at a time. They have not got it all wrong, I got a prompt happy birthday email the other day which was actually right.
