Putin said(and I agree) that the next war will be fought with ones and zeros. Does that make me a Putin lover too? I’m still waiting for your response as to why fighting a land war in Europe with Russia would be to our benefit? The next war is already being fought and it ain't with ones and zeros. You do not appear to be pro-Russia like Luapnor is, He defends every action Russia and Putin takes. Putin has repeatedly said he wants to bring back the glory of the old USSR. That means taking over a few NATO countries that would force our physical involvement rather that just monetary support. I would prefer to let Ukraine and our monetary support weaken Russia and convince them not to try expanding further rather than have our young people fighting a war for the next 10 years and dying. If you want to see WW3, let Russia take Ukraine without a fight and you will eventually get your wish. What you and others fail to understand is that we, NATO allowed Putin to try and “Bring back the glory “ as you say. You seem to forget Georgia ( not the state) and it’s invasive/take over with no consequences. Then the take over of Crimea. Followed by the shoot down of the Malaysian airliner over Ukraine. Not to mention that NATO and our feckless State Department talked the Ukrainians into giving up their nukes with the promise of protection. When someone did step into the Whitehouse and began supplying the Ukrainians with actual defensive weapons all hell broke lose from the diplomatic class. And as this thread says, how are those sanctions working? Not well it seems. And yes, Russia fights dirty and they have no problem with taking casualties. This is going to be a war of attrition. And it ain’t looking good for Ukraine. |

We have been conducting proxy wars on each other from Korea to Nicaragua. Letting them run rough shot on a neighbor with large amounts of natural resources would not be good for America or its allies. Russia will not lose. Not sure why anyone finds that hard to understand. The Russians burned Moscow to the ground to deny napoleon a victory. They understand the meaning of real war better than any American has ever had to. We pushed them into a corner with nato... we supported Ukraine in killing Ukrainians in Donbas...the western elites have played there cards. They know what the intentions are, they have called the bluff. They simply will not lose. They will take the world with them if you try. We need to stop this idiotic notion we can beat them. You say Russia can’t be beat, and no one can or should try because if Russia ever loses a war, they’ll destroy the world out of spite. Do you not understand that: 1. That’s a primary reason you sound like a Russian agent and not an American citizen? 2. Assuming you are an American, you definitely love and respect Russia more than your own country? Meaning you ought to leave the country you hate and go to the country you love. 3. You’re making the case why Russia needs to be stopped now? Any country that will threaten to destroy the world any time its faced with losing is an evil country. I never said they can't be beat, I said they won't lose. Do you think we would lose a battle on our homeland and yet you try to twist it into Russis threatening to destroy the world. Is that what the USA would do if we were losing on our homeland?? This is typical of neocons and the drones on this forum, twist the words to suit your argument and try to alienate those that call out our wrongdoings. Back to the Topic -Russia has taken an interesting step. Putin's puppets are staying ahead of the curve. The Russian version of the FDIC is supposed to pay claims from depositors. But, the only way to apply for these benefits is a website ... that no longer exists! As the banks continue to fail, the damage will accelerate. Citizens of Russia are desperate to exchange their near-worthless Rubles for Euros or Dollars. Clinging to hope, they stand in line ... passive victims of a failed system. Judging by the number of oligarchs with vast amounts of money and power that might not be for too much longer. I'm all for Ukraine to be released of any obligations to hold back on pursuing the war on Russian ground. I'm not all in on killing innocent civilians. |
