The world demand has increased. Domestic production has increased to its capacity now allowed under the current regime’s authoritarian regulations.
It’s not what is being produced. It’s what COULD BE PRODUCED if Trump was president.
Current production levels are the result of Trump being elected in 2016. They are being held back by the Biden administration.

That is not the SPR. The SPR is oil and located in salt mines in Louisiana and Texas. This is a gasoline reserve for the northeast created after Sandy hit in 2012. It is rotated out every so often anyways since gasoline has a short shelf life. It is supposed to be used to help that region after a major disaster. They have been refilling the SPR with oil. Also congress has mandated selling off the Northeast gas reserve and closing it , so this is following that mandate.

Call it what you want, it was part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 that was passed by Congress and signed into law. Sec. 308. (a) Notwithstanding sections 161 and 167 of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (42 U.S.C. 6241, 6247), the Secretary of Energy shall draw down and sell one million barrels of refined petroleum product from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve during fiscal year 2024. (b) All proceeds from such sale shall be deposited into the general fund of the Treasury during fiscal year 2024. (c) Upon the completion of such sale, the Secretary shall carry out the closure of the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve. www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/4366/text

I'll stop there. Why? It was a knee jerk solution to a rare hurricane and wasn't enough gasoline to make a real difference. It was about a 2 hour supply and it cost money to keep rotating the gasoline out to keep it from going bad. It makes more sense to stockpile oil, not gasoline.

Not too hard to figure out.. strategic reserves are intended for security. Ol' Dickhead and his cronies are systematically weakening a nation.

It was intended to help during supply disruptions. it had nothing to do with security. The President is authorized to release reserves any time there is a supply shortage as there was when Russia invaded Ukraine. From the DOE: The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), the world's largest supply of emergency crude oil was established primarily to reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum products and to carry out obligations of the United States under the international energy program.

Yep. Disruptions like the election of Joe “gonna end fossil fuels as we know it” Biden…

It's crude oil not gasoline. Nothing to worry about and it's not a security thing? Will your vehicle run on it? Pretty sure about every piece of equipment in the military was spec for tri fuel. Natural gas, diesel or crude oil.

They coukd produce 10x more oil. But if you can't refine it it doesn't matter.

Excuse me sir.
If we produced 10X more oil and put it on the world market it would lower prices both domestically and globally.
Lower prices are a double win!
1) Lower prices for the finished products in America
2) Weakening of our enemies abroad as their oil production will be less profitable for them.
