So is mine. Bad compressor, waiting on warranty to approve replacement. Dude, you are killing them on that warranty, they must hate seeing you walk through the dayš¤£š¤£ I love the warranty, but it takes two weeks to get anything repaired. Used to be quick, last couple have taken forever. First it takes 3 or 4 days to get approval, then a week to order the Mopar part, because warranty won't allow aftermarket. I think they make it a pain in purpose. But I am retired, so I don't care if it takes a couple of weeks as long as it only costs the $100 deductible.

You have Some different sort of lifetime warranty than I have.....
I bought mine from Jim Browne CDJR in Tampa. Now CDJR of Tampa Bay.... Which is a Morgan Group Dealership.
When I bought mine, they were offering lifetime powertrain warranty add no additional cost..... Engine and Transmission.
AC, 4wd Components etc do not count.
I guess I should have looked into upgrading to bumper to bumper. But I did not....
I am on the hook for this 4wd repair.
Heck I have probably voided the engine warranty anyway.

I have both power train and bumper to bumper. 2007 was the only year I know they offered both for free during the $4 a gallon gas period when nobody was buying trucks. Also had $5000 in rebates.
Only reason I chose Dodge over Ford back then.

I have seen Dodge/Ram Dealers do it.... Not all of them....
And I have never seen a bumper to bumper like Cadman has....
But it does not cost much at all to put a lifetime non transferable power train warranty on a new vehicle.
Cad has got his money's worth and then some.... But it never comes into play on most vehicles sold.... Because the one I have is a basic powertrain.... Major engine and transmission components only.... And the factory powertrain warranty goes to 60k on rams.... IF the engine or transmission has not taken a shit by the time the factory warranty is out, it is probably not going to take a shit by 100k miles... and MOST people trade their vehicles by then.
In the early 2000's I took a brief foray away from the meat wholesale and brokerage business for a few years. I sold cars for a year. Kubota Tractors for two years. then John Deere Tractors for a year. Then returned to the Kubota Dealer I was at as the General Manager (I was trying to buy the dealership or at least a controlling interest in the dealership)
The Markup on warranty, maintenance and add on products is HUGE.... That is why I never buy them.... When I sold cars, I was in the used department. Because that is where the money is made from the sales standpoint... In new cars at the end of the day it is about sales volume for the dealership. And the sales manager or the GSM is going to cut the deal down to nothing to keep the customer from going to another dealer and to get the hold back money... So as a sales person, you mess around with a savvy buyer for several days back and forth and the price gets cut to where you get what is known as a Mini... Meaning you make a hundred bucks. Much harder to price shop used cars..... Everyone is different. Different miles, different options. and many are taken in on trade well below market value. There is opportunity to make real money....
But if as a sales person you are allowed to sell warranty and value added products, you could make more money off selling those than the car itself...
And in tractors it got even more ridiculous

Got my Truck back.... It was at the dealer for ten days, for a repair that took a half a day....

Waited over a week for warranty approval and another week to order the new compressor and some other part. Dodge's new system of warranty approval sucks. It is strictly by email and I think there is only one or two people handling all the claims across the country. I even called the warranty number I have to see if it would help and the rep there told me you can not contact that department by phone, email only and his department could not contact them at all and they handled warranty claims in the order they are received. All he could do was look at the current status and tell me what it said.

Even with the time constraints Cad, youāre still way ahead on the financial side of it. Iād be awesomely happy with that warranty. Iāve had repairs not covered by a warranty take weeks back during the supply chain fiasco.

I think all dealers are taking forever to get repairs done.
I had my Ram in for a AC problem that was supposed to take 3 hours.
10 days and $790 later I got it back.
Sure wish I had one of those ālifetimeā warranties.
