Correct. My company has paid into my plan, and they will continue paying into the next generations plan as long as things remain intact. We are fortunate to have a exceptional benefits program and most of the guys who have put in their time retire pretty well off with over 7 figures in their account before they're 60. Heck, they're currently dropping 20% of unmatched money into my account every month. What's not to love about that? It may chap their ass, but it is what it is and it's deserved. I don't bitch that my CEO makes $10 million a year, so he doesn't need to bitch about handing me $40k a year in my retirement plan and paying $25k a year into my medical plan. That's a recipe for keeping a long term employee happy, if you ask me. On the flip side, most mariners don't live past 80. Most check out before 75, but their wives are set for the rest of their lives. That's why I WILL NOT work past 65.

Which supplement plan letter is the important part, who issues it does not matter, that is just price. Choose the cheapest carrier in your area. I have a plan G. I am pretty sure from what mister has posted, that he has the old plan F which you can't get anymore. The other supplement a lot of people get is Plan N. Plan F paid from the first dollar. Once I pay the part B deductible, medicare and the supplement pay the rest. I have medicare and Plan G with UHC. Love it. Wife had pretty serious cancer bout, cost us our out of pocket (200 something) and thats it. I had a knee replacement and really no bills at all. I think our Plan G is $386 a month for the both of us. Well worth it.

Nothing like investing in a countries health by ensuring the health of its citizens is good. Prevents costly diseases in the future and helps people be productive longer. Great return on investment.

Another benefit to the UHC supplemental is the free gym membership (he said "free!"). Medicare = then best thing about getting old!

Yeah, Silver Sneakers is often included in Advantage plans, especially Humana. UHC broke off with SS and started their own program, "Renew Active", which they include in the AARP supplement. Virtually every gym that takes SS also takes Renew Active.

My doctor told me that Medicare backed up by Blue Cross/Blue Shield is the Cadillac of insurance coverage. He said it’s the package all health care providers love except some don't take bcbs.. labcorp for example.

Any medical provider, lab, or hospital that accept original Medicare has to accept the supplement plan. Advantage plans my be different as they are private insurance.
