The weird thing is that when I bought a gun at a gun show they ran a background check on me. That is the norm. You've been gaslit. The idea that gun shows are free for alls is bogus. Since the vendors at gun shows are licensed dealers they are required to run background checks, the same as if they sell from their store. The "gun show loophole" that you keep hearing about isn't unique to gun shows at all. Private sales, which could transact at a gun show or in a Walmart parking lot, are legal. That drives would-be dictators to distraction. They want to track ALL sales so they can know whose door to bust in when it's time to confiscate. That's the truth of the issue. You are being gaslit as well if you think anyone is going to confiscate your guns. That is just conspiracy bullshit. It is unconstitutional, congress will never pass such a law and the courts have ruled even states can not prohibit gun ownership. So let's stop with the "they're coming after my guns" bullshit once and for all. Nobody is ever coming after your guns. It is not even a remote possibility. I'm well aware of that, but if it will keep some guns out of the hands of lunatics, I'm all for it.

Listening to a dummy trying to explain to intelligent chatroomers how the government is looking out for our best interests

Are you trying to interpret what I am I saying? Gun laws have been slowly evolving over the years and, now that boomers are dying off, they will continue to evolve.

It's all a boogieman that people keep falling for. Right up until the point the "boogyman" goes postal. That poor schlub in Maine was reported several times. The warnings of violent ideation were ignored. Two days after the fact, news showed lines outside Maine gun shops. Are we missing something here? Just yesterday, a woman died at the hands of a guy with a "restraining order". Reportedly, cops refused to enforce the order. Are we missing something here? Is it a choice between vindictive reporting by an angry ex, and judicial findings for a dead one? If so, I know which direction is preferred. Angry exes can face charges, battered women face a coroner. I heard she couldnt get a gun to protect herself because of some 3 day waiting period and background checks...

Since it was the mentally ill trannies going postal lately, you might have to talk to your congressman to get them ruled as mentally ill so they cant get guns.

Thoughts? Twenty-six Republican attorneys general filed lawsuits Wednesday challenging a new Biden administration rule requiring firearms dealers across the United States to run background checks on buyers at gun shows and other places outside brick-and-mortar stores. The lawsuits filed in federal court in Arkansas, Florida and Texas are seeking to block enforcement of the rule announced last month, which aims to close a loophole that has allowed tens of thousands of guns to be sold every year by unlicensed dealers who do not perform background checks to ensure the potential buyer is not legally prohibited from having a firearm. “Congress has never passed into law the ATF’s dramatic new expansion of firearms dealer license requirements, and President Biden cannot unilaterally impose them,” Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said in a statement. "This lawsuit is just the latest instance of my colleagues in other states and me having to remind the President that he must follow the law.” www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/26-republican-attorneys-general-sue-to-block-biden-rule-requiring-background-checks-at-gun-shows/ar-AA1o09jwMy thoughts are, why should gun shows be exempt? The weird thing is that when I bought a gun at a gun show they ran a background check on me. That is the norm. You've been gaslit. The idea that gun shows are free for alls is bogus. I have bought two in the last few years at a gun show. Went through all the paperwork, since I’m a concealed carry, I was able to leave with it.

What about private sales at gun shows? Buying a gun from someone other than a licensed dealer?

Are you suggesting there are no private sellers at guns shows?
