Time out. Wyn you even make a store cooked chicken and a bag salad into sounding gourmet! I guess I need lessons… Its all about the presentation. You can make a slaw dog sound good. All beef frankfurter on a artisan multi grain bun... with finely chopped red onions...tangy rich & creamy purple cabbage slaw and a splash of dijon. And I do like a good slaw dog!!!!!

My grandmother and aunt use to make them in Mississippi. They would mix potted meat, tomatoes, and crushed up crackers, along with a slice of bacon on the top. I make them like this every few years. Better the next day by using the stuffing to make a sandwich.

Im making something tomorrow I had never heard of until recently....Poutine. We were at Epcot a couple weeks ago and decided to get something to eat. Apparently we were in Canada and I told my GF to get me whatever she was getting. She got the Poutine. She really liked it (I thought it was just ok) and requested that I make it for her at home. So french fries with gravy and cheese curds it is.
I am going to tune it up a little with some caramelized onions and shaved ribeye.

The same grandmother and aunt I've mentioned previously, came down here 35 years or so ago to visit me. They wanted to go to Epcot, as they had been previously, and enjoyed themselves. We drove up from N. Palm and toured the park, and went to the exhibits they wanted to see. They insisted we go to the Canadian pavilion to eat. What did they get---Mixed Fruit Salad. I still get a chuckle thinking about them and them being so happy eating a bowl of fruit that is claimed to be Canadian.
Wynnv, I've never had poutine either, but looks like something that would taste good, and be even better with your onions and ribeye!

Never had poutine either but it sounds good as long as you can source the cheese curds. The best french fry dish I ever had was carne asada fries in San Diego. It was fantastic.

I'm very fond of cheese curds. But while the ones you get in the grocery are good, the fresh ones in Wisconsin are in another time zone. You'll be amazed at the difference.

Wife and I did a Show and Tell with the Canine Companions pups we are raising in Lakeland on Wednesday evening, then ate at Palace Italiano. Very good eatery. I had Veal Piccata, and wife had Chicken in Vodka sauce, both served with angel hair pasta. They sure serve a lot and we both had a carry out box to take home, That's what's for dinner

Neither my wife or I felt like cooking tonight, so we picked up Pollo tropical. Pollo tropical is hit and miss. Sometimes the chicken is fresh and juicyand sometimes it is dried out but their black beans are fairly good.

Damn Jack, I wish i could get a good veal dinner here in Tampa. For good veal in the area, come up to Taso Italiano, New Port Richey.Veal Piccata, Veal Francese, Veal Marsala, or Veal Parmigiana You won't be disappointed

Thats a bit of a ride but i will keep it in mind. Thanks! Veal Parm is my favorite. Last time down in the Keys we went to Key colony Inn three nights in a row for their veal parm
