Baby spinach, can tuna, can peas and oil/vinegar dressing. I know it sounds weird but, that shit was pretty good. (we had some pretty $tight times off and on back then, so I may have just been really hungry 😋).

Flash frying half of a gobbler breast I just found buried in the freezer from last year. Thin strips cut against the grain and dusted in Everglades fry mix.

That reminded me of a salad that my mom used to make.  Baby spinach, can tuna, can peas and oil/vinegar dressing.  I know it sounds weird but, that shit was pretty good. (we had some pretty $tight times off and on back then, so I may have just been really hungry 😋). sometimes I’ll make a bean salad with tuna. A can of beans, rinsed, chopped onion, chopped tomato, a can of tuna. A little chop cilantro if I happen to have any, and then douse it with red wine vinegar, and olive oil.

Making bacon wrapped scallops and Salmon at the wife's request. Sides will be rice and corn on the cob.

Fried flounder soft tacos for lunch and venison hard tacos for dinner.... all the trimmings imaginable, right down to the fresh lime zest and homemade avocado cilantro dressing.
I almost took pics but then forgot.

Publix spicy chicken wings and macaroni salad. Last minute decision, but sounded, and taste, good to me. Tough decision later: fresh baked chocolate chip cookies or strawberry topped cheesecake.

The one thing I miss from my youth growing up in Mississippi is the all you can eat catfish houses. The whole family, including grandmother and aunt would pack in a car and drive the 45 minutes or so to our favorite one. Fried everything: whole catfish, hush puppies, fries, along with really good coleslaw.

I had some sliced BBQ beef at a local BBQ joint named Shortys. It was fantastic and I asked the pit cook what type of beef and wood and he said eye of round roast at 250 degrees over hickory.
Think I may give that a go today since it is raining.
