What are you doing in PA? Did you take the jeep on a test ride? No on the jeep. Staying at a VRBO. Went to D.C for a day and then Gettysburg yesterday where the photo was taken. Headed to Baltimore today. Going to try and see the bridge that was hit Was going to New York, but will do another trip next year for that. We are 3 hours from NYC and don't feel like making the drive. Stay at a place closer to NYC Rented a Mazda CX-5 and it's a nice car. Almost drives itself. The gas savings between it and my truck will pay half the rental bill We have a rabbit in the yard Gypsy loves to chase. She can't catch it though. Figured I better see DC before November, the protestors may burn it down depending on the outcome . Drove to Lumberton NC the first day and spent the night there. Finished the drive the second day. Each was supposed to be 6 hours that took 9 due to traffic.

If it's just she and I we have started taking the CX on trips rather than the Traverse. Mileage is about the same on the highway. Around town, the CX wins.

Gettysburg is nice. I was there once.
DC is excellent, always takes a couple days more than one thinks.
Enjoy your trip.

Sign says 55, they drive 70 to 80.

Broke a tooth while chewing gum a couple of hours ago. Thankfully no pain. Already had a dental cleaning scheduled Next Wednesday, so I called and told them I would need the dentist that day.
Hopefully the rest of the tooth holds together until then.

Tripping on acid. Best fire works show ever. Still have a flag t shirt I bought there. Only wear it on July forth every year.

I was gonna guess Gettysburg. It’s a place I still want to visit. Go, but I will suggest that you read up on the battle. When one reads (a little in depth) on the battle and has some understanding of the scope of what these men did and what they went through it will send shivers down your spine. What a nasty war....

Thanks mango. I’m a bit of a civil war buff and have read several books and watched a video or three. Darn right those men on both sides were fighters and committed to their cause. It definitely opened my eyes on the horrors of war. Back then, the combined abilities of the fighting men and their leaders could have conquered just about any other foe known to man. Civil wars rarely have a true winner.

When I was in junior high school, I used to get in trouble all the time and instead of the teacher making you write “I will not talk in class “or something similar to that where you could write down in columns, He would make us write the Gettysburg address. I had the whole thing memorized by the end of the year, but after writing it probably 500 times I had no desire to visit Gettysburg.

If you're not already familiar, Google the "angle" at Cheatham Hill and the " hellhole" at New Hope.

Pay attention to where your at and your surroundings in DC and Baltimore, there are some bad places up there, I worked in some places up there where they just open the door and throw their trash out in the street as the traffic comes through and runs over it, nobody working in whole neighborhoods unless they were working the night shift.

If you're not already familiar, Google the "dead angle" at Cheatham Hill and the " hellhole" at New Hope. Thanks Ferris, they sound familiar and I'll check em out. My Brothers went to Gettysburg collage. My Dad's grandfather fought in the Civil War, sounds wrong but there was big age gap with his grandather (Christopher Warner) having children late in life his children had their children (my dad) late in life. My great grandfather was wounded at Chancellorsville and that eventially knocked him out of the war. He eventually passed away from his wound, blood poisoning from the mini ball still in his body.

Do you know the difference in the headstones.
The Confederates are pointed. The Yankees are rounded.

We went through a couple of questionable areas in Baltimore. We saw trash bags in the road on one street but avoided them. I thought they fell off the garbage truck. People also just park in the middle of the road. Turn on hazards and leave the car there. Went on some cobblestone roads in Baltimore. That is bumpy riding. Saw some big ass ships.
