The wind has finally died down, so we headed out this morning to try and locate some of the highly threatened red snapper. The Gulf was nice and calm, the weather guys got correct for once. We caught 5-6 shorts at our first spot, then made a little move to another number. 15 minutes later, our limit is in the box. 18"-29". We trolled around for a while, looking for new spots, and a school of dolphin showed up, so we caught a few for dinner. Back on the trailer by 12:30. I left my phone at home so no pics.

Nope, rarely see any decent ones that shallow. We didn't measure any of them, there's no size limit in the GOM, boat limit is 60. The ones we kept were probably No we didn't keep that many. We could have easily caught 100. Didn't count them either, but we probably had 8-10.
