Driver also had some sort of spotting scope..... They kept stopping and glassing... I saw this fella's antlers sticking out of the tall brush before they got to it..... They drove RIGHT by him. Never tapped the brakes... I got to him, never came to a complete stop. Took a few photos as stealthily as possible. I kept going... Went down about a hundred yards... Turned around because I was tired of following that other truck... He was still there... Same spot. Had not moved an inch. |

Nice picture Johnny!.. I’ll spot burn and guess it’s somewhere near road 1? well if he took the picture its 100% within 100 yds of a road thats for sure. i love how a guy who has been going to a wma for a short time and has never hunted it is gonna call out other guys who have been hunting the area for over 10 years killing deer and walking hundreds of miles sitting for hours and hours in tree stands, ok im gonna believe the guy who drives around in his truck taking pictures. dinner island has no bucks without brow tines. ok whatever you say. |

And that deer was like 20 yards from the road... And I watched two fools that I had been creeping behind since Farm Field... Drive right by that buck....
And I do not walk far from my truck... In the last 7 years... Not past a half mile..... And now with this heat... Not much at all....
And keep thinking what you want to think about me.... I thought we had gotten past that Bullshit... I guess not....

Meat is just busting balls. He enjoys the fun of ribbing people with a exaggerated sprinkling of their own truths. It would be like me telling Johnny I was going rattlesnake hunting just because.
I honestly don't think he means any harm. I feel there would be little question if he really meant to be malicious... in short, I doubt he gives a shit enough to be upset with a individual unless they are blatantly breaking a law.
After years of working in the field of organizational psychology, this is my succinct summary and professional profile for him. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected... but I doubt I am.

So true!… No big bucks like I see on YouTube,venomous snakes, alligators, pythons, biting bugs of all kinds carrying diseases, bears, high water, over crowded with hunters, and extreme heat!….I really don’t know why I waste my time!.. especially during archery!… I may become a road hunter like JB. I’ll probably see more deer, enjoy the A/C, no bugs , and can drink a cold one !😜 |

what a beautiful sunrise it was this morning, everyone have a positive and happy day today.nothing but good vibes and blessings to my brothers. think im gonna drive around and hand out bubble gum to all the homeless that way they can chew it and still be hungry. Lol! I'm heading to Indiantown to pick up my deer cleaning tripod from the ranch. I intend to keep it busy at some point this season. Last year I cleaned close to 30 deer hanging from it in SC. I doubt it will ever see that kind of severe duty again but it will still have to earn its keep a little... BTW, Meat, I'm still scouting tomorrow even though I returned 2 permits last night. I still have 3 more so you still might have to move your stand...  |

after the fresh huge rubs,tracks and scrapes i found in holeyland,area 3 or rotenberger,, its one of those 3 wmas i might be in the glades next weekend. i do have a couple of guys interning for a spot burner position thats opening soon so i will get plenty of updates from that very secret wma over in hendry county. i wont be there till the 3rd hunt but if that 11 point that hangs out on the corner of farm field road and the main grade by the cattle pens and old water tank is still alive i will stop there for a hour everytime i do the loop. it takes about a hour and 15 minutes to do the loop at 8mph that includes stopping and glassing every doe and checking out suspicious looking palmettos 400 yds out in the pasture. so 4 loops stopping at that corner for a hour each time should just about take the whole day . shoot i forgot about driving up and down farm field road and maybe a stalk on a hog that turns out to be a baby cow. ill get back to you gotta work on my plan some more.

Unless you have 1st hunt, that 11 won't last. Ray already has his sights on it.
I just asked him if he needed either a shooter or a driver for his upcoming "road trip" and he declined any help. I think he's predicting a very quick opener.
Holey land is the sleeper this year. A lot of outstanding bucks hanging around the power line pads. Good luck out there. I can't believe you're still hunting area 3.

the glades, seems like the same guys every year get bucks out there, larry,matt,dave,calvin,joel and his son are names you hear every freaking year, i used to be on that list but age and old injuries have caught up to me. boo hoo for me

He was hauling ass to the north through that heavy brush... Difficult shot because the camera's autofocus has a hard time telling what you are attempting to focus on. But all the photos that are reasonably clear show that broken G2. I am confident it is the same deer... Was very close to where I photographed him last week. And every time I have seen him he has been in that general area.. |

I have seen that deer. The antler is broken off. He will be lucky to be alive by this time next week unless the circumstances in which he lives by just make it too difficult to get him with a bow.

Matt still going hard. Doug Massey moved as did myself and Don Clark.. lots of the great glades hunters got tired of the heat, bugs, ahole game wardens, jackwads sitting on your lanes, no deer etc. Charlie Davis, Fizzikellis, Corbetts, Eubabks, Medlens, Gonzalez, Calloway, the Drake brothers. lots more I cant remember. Hard to hunt somewhere that sucks when the glory days werent that long ago. Anyone remember Browns Farm.that was a fun place to hunt. killed several great bucks out there, big hogs, quail, doves etc. nothing like running the jon boat down the back canal in the dark. deer jumping off the mound almost in the boat. coming back to the boat for lunch to find the water level dropped 2 ft and you have no shear pins or paddle. it was great times but i wouldnt trade for anything for what i have now in tennessee.Good luck to all of you still dealing with all that misery this weekend. hope to see some pics and success stories |

I think Doug Massey is up here by me. We've been trying to connect on some Gardners Marsh hunting but we haven't been able to pull it off. I think he might be more interested in just running his airboat now. I'm about there myself.
The Dahers sold their family camp recently. They've finally given up on the Glades too. It's a damn shame what has happened out there.
